The business was established on November 1, 1960 as Kelly’s Pipe Supply Co., Inc., by James “Kelly” Callahan and G.H. “Herb” Turnbull. George W. Shoen bought Kelly Callahan’s half interest in Kelly’s Pipe & Supply Co., Inc. in September 1970. George Shoen then acquired 100% of the stock from Herb Turnbull in June 1985. A sale of operating business assets, and ongoing business, occurred on April 1, 1993, between Kelly’s PipeSupply Co., Inc. and Bradley S. Shoen, Inc. dba Kelly’s Pipe Supply Co.
